In all things God works for the good of those who love him

Romans 8:28
In all things God works for the good of those who love him
Reflection
Hope in the biblical sense is not wishful thinking or optimistic speculation. It is confident expectation based on God's character and track record. Romans 8:28 does not say that all things are good — many things in life are painful, unjust, and heartbreaking. It says that God works in all things for the good of those who love him. This is a bold claim about God's ability to redeem even the darkest circumstances. Joseph told his brothers that what they meant for evil, God intended for good. The cross itself — history's greatest injustice — became history's greatest act of salvation. This does not minimize suffering but provides a framework for enduring it with purpose. As you close this seven-day journey, carry this hope forward: no situation is beyond God's redemptive reach. The worst chapter of your story is not the last chapter. God is still writing, and the ending will be good beyond imagination.
